ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Flights and logistics
Arrival and departure point is Entebbe International Airport (EBB). There are no direct flights from Spain, so a layover is usually required (e.g., Qatar Airways, Emirates, KLM, or Brussels Airlines). This 6-day express route includes a mandatory internal flight from Bwindi (Kihihi airstrip) back to Entebbe to maximize time in the country, also offering spectacular aerial views.
Visa
Spanish passport holders require an entry visa for Uganda (e-visa). The cost is approximately 50 USD and must be obtained online before travel.
Vaccinations and altitude
Yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended and vaccination records should be up to date. Bwindi ranges between 1,160 m and 2,600 m above sea level. Altitude sickness is rare, but gorilla trekking requires a moderate to high fitness level due to heat, humidity, and steep, slippery terrain.
